Meet Dr. Michaels

Dr. David Michaels

Dr. Michaels graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1986 and, following a locum in the middle east, he returned to Canada and opened Dentistry On Wilson in 1989. He maintains a strong belief in his own personal and professional development and strives consistently to deliver dental care that goes beyond patient expectations in an environment that is welcoming, comfortable and stress free. “Dr M” maintains an ongoing involvement in residencies, study clubs, and was previously a clinical instructor in dental hygiene at George Brown College. In 2006 he opened Dentistry On Norwich (currently Woodstock Dental Centre) to serve patients in the Woodstock, Ontario area. WDAW provides all levels of dental treatment including implants, sedation, paediatrics, prosthetics, TMJ treatment and  BOTOX® therapy, Invisalign® and traditional orthodontic care. The clinic also offers “sleep dentistry” and full-mouth aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. Dr Michaels also sees select patients in need at Woodstock General Hospital. He maintains an active lifestyle and spends every spare minute he can with his amazing family.

Meet Dr. Ruoho

Dr. Ruoho

Dr. Peter Ruoho was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario.  He attended the University of Western Ontario where he received a degree in Honours Genetics and was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal for highest average in his class.  Following this, Dr. Ruoho received a dental degree from the University of British Columbia in beautiful Vancouver. Initially he practiced in the demanding  northern Alberta communities of Grande Prairie and High Prairie before returning home to be closer to his family.

Dr. Ruoho offers and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has special interests in the areas of endodontics and oral surgery – recently expanding into dental  impantology. With his calm and gentle chair side approach, “Dr. Peter” already has an avid following amongst our patients regardless of what treatment is being performed.

When not in the office he can be found working on his golf game or playing drums with his band. He is very excited to join the fantastic team at Woodstock Dental Centre, serving the dental needs of Woodstock and the surrounding community.

Meet Dr. Lok

Dr. Lok

Dr. Jonathan J. Lok is a dental anesthesiologist who provides sedation and general anesthesia to dental offices in the GTA and beyond. His patients include young children, anxious or phobic patients, those who have had negative dental experiences in the past, people with severe gag reflexes, others who have difficulty with ‘freezing’, the mentally or physically challenged, or those patients who require extensive or uncomfortable treatment.

Dr. Lok graduated from dental school at the University of Toronto in 2001 and in 2004 completed his dental anesthesia training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Dental Anesthesia. He is a part-time clinical instructor in the graduate dental anesthesia program at University of Toronto and was the secretary of the Canadian Academy of Dental Anesthesia from 2007 to 2008. He is one of the few dentists in Canada who has extensive training in sedation and general anesthesia.

Dr. Lok is patient, compassionate, and caring, and strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for you or your child.

Meet Dr. Mohamad Abu Sharkh DDS FRCDC (Paed.)

Dr. Mo

“Dr. Mo” completed his undergraduate studies in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences and dental training at the University of Western Ontario, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. After graduation, he moved to Calgary where he practiced family dentistry while enjoying the great outdoors and beautiful mountains that Alberta has to offer. After realizing that most adult patients don’t enjoy talking about Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, or the latest Marvel movies, he decided that his target audience was likely much younger – and wisely chose to become a Paediatric dentist. This led him to the University of Minnesota where he obtained his Advanced Training in Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of fixing baby teeth, Dr. Mo enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and daughter, staying active, listening to podcasts, and watching stand-up comedy. FYI, his favorite Marvel hero is Iron Man.

Meet Dr. Zanatta

Dr. Zanatta

Dr. Zanatta attended dental school at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and graduated in 2008 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.  Inspired by her family of dedicated health care professionals, she then took her education to a higher level and  obtained a master’s degree in Orthodontics from Gama Filho University in 2011. Practicing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil she embraced both traditional and cutting edge ortho treatment for patients of every age in a progressive and dynamic orthodontic practice.  After moving to Canada, she integrated into the dental community both working and simultaneously studying and completing the extremely challenging and rigorous Dental Accreditation Equivalency program allowing her to practice as a licensed dentist in Canada. “Dr. Fernanda” now brings her caring nature and expert orthodontic skills to WDC where she has already gained a following giving our patients beautiful smiles that will last a lifetime.
